Honestly, with a name like Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party, need I say more? From the moment my friend from Atlanta suggested this to us, we were hooked. And we didn’t even know what it was. But, we took our trek driving into the city and parked a few blocks away from the charming area. The outside was magical. Scattered with plants, the entrance welcomed its visitors with warm colors and fragrance.
Our first stop in Atlanta was absolutely a memorable one. Thanks to my friend Hadassah, we were able to find this magical cafe where we were charming by literally everything within it. From the names of teas, to the desserts, to the fans, books, umbrellas, and plants, it was mesmerizing. Particularly after our drive into the city, it was the perfect way to get warmed up. We walked along the sweet neighborhood, which was equally charming.
The exterior greeted us with flowers and cheer, ready to invite us in. The tea itself was delicious and the options were numerous and lovely. I had a delicious dandelion tea as I took in the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and books lining the walls. Not to mention the staff was so kind! We had so much fun chatting with those serving us our tea and cakes.
And, don’t forget to check out their non-profit education program, The Learning Tea. You can support their project to provide scholarships to women in impoverished areas of India in a few ways, including attending one of their monthly dinners or buying a book from their shop.
Check out their site for more photos of this lovely business and ways to support their mission, and don’t forget to make your reservation for the next time you go to Atlanta!
